Alex Moore Competes in International Taekwondo Dual

MAAB Taekwondo student Alex Moore, a sophomore at Billings Skyview High School, competed in an International High School Taekwondo meet in Williston, ND on April 11th. It was a dual style meet with competitors from Saskatchewan, Canada, North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana, USA vs Canada. The competition featured a single elimination Poomse competition of the females, as well as the males, and each competitor also had two sparring matches. Points were awarded for wins for their respective high schools.

Alex, as the only competitor from Skyview, won the female division forms and both of her sparring matches, thus garnering 28 total points and notching a 3rd place finish for her high school.

Masters Ed Thompson, Brice Cady, Dave Allen and Mr. Jeremiah Thompson, Mrs. Bridget Moore and Mr. Ron Moore (Alex's parents) traveled to Williston to support her efforts. Master Cady refereed several matches, graded the forms competition, Jeremiah Thompson served as her coach, and Dave Allen acted as tournament emcee. Special thanks to Grand Master Randy Waitman for sponsoring this event and providing excellent hospitality for everyone. He was also instrumental in getting Taekwondo approved as a letter sport in North Dakota.

Great job Alex! MAAB is very proud of you!
